One of the largest events organised by the Friends is the annual children’s Halloween evening. It has proved to be extremely popular, enjoyed by children and adults alike. Visitors tour the Castle, which is dressed out in all things ghostly and ghastly, and can see witches at their cauldron, executioners at their business, ghosts, demented inhabitants and much else. Children can take part in activities such as colouring amulets that they can then wear to ward off ghosties and ghoulies, face-painting, witch’s hat hoopla and “stick the wart on the witch’s nose”.
All of the activities are designed with children in mind, so adults can rest assured that the scariness is appropriate!
Information about this event and details of how to book tickets will generally be available a month or so before Halloween on the Castle website - http://www.tamworthcastle.co.uk/childrens-halloween-evening.
